Sugar Photos

Cake magic is one of the few businesses to own a sugar photo printer.

This is a machine which scans a picture or photo and prints the image onto sugar paper using food coloring.  This therefore means that the picture itself then becomes edible and can be used as a cake topper as the picture is printed onto sugar paper, not directly onto the top of the cake.  
This is a fun and new way to personalize a cake as you can use a favorite image.  People have used their computers to create photos of themselves or loved ones standing next to someone famous.  Others have used original wedding photos to decorate their wedding anniversary cakes.  Similarly, those who got married abroad and then came back to England to celebrate their wedding have used a photo of the day to personalize their cake.  Alternatively, some of our customers with a sense of humor have chosen to use baby photo’s on top of certain age cakes as either a reminder of how far they’ve come or to simply give their guests a giggle.  The sugar photos also work well though when celebrating a graduation, a christening or even the memory of a loved one.

To have an image made edible simply bring your picture into Cake Magic and we’ll do the rest.  However, Cake Magic would like to point out to customers that because the printer is a food printer and hence not like the one you would use at home with your computer, the picture needs to be the right size for you cake as our printer will not enlarge or reduce.

Please note that cakes are not supplied with sugar photos unless specified and you do not have to have one of our cakes to use the machine.  Sugar photos can usually been done within 10 minutes.
