Cake stands, Bases and Knives

Cake Magic has a variety of items available to hire, including cake tins, cake knives, bases and stands. These are available on a first come first served basis with customers who have booked their cake with us having priority. At certain times of year, mainly the summer months, cake stands and other hire items are in high demand and Cake Magic therefore recommends reserving your hire items as soon as you have decided what you need. There is no charge for this; all we ask is that if you change your mind that you let us know so that someone else can use them.

All hire charges must be paid for when the item leaves Cake Magic and all hire items need a deposit of credit or debit card details left to ensure that they come back to us. Nothing is processed on the card details unless the hire item is never returned or the hire item is damaged. We insist on this method of deposit as we have lost items in the past and we no longer accept cheques for any type of payment. Once the hire item is returned, we tear out the card details so that the customer is assured we no longer have them.

The safe return of all hire items is the customer’s responsibility. Therefore, if you are going straight off on honeymoon, check first that someone is able to return your items, as if they are not returned until you are back, you will be charged for the additional weeks that the item has been away from us and will also be charged for our and other customer’s inconvenience. We therefore ask all customers to be considerate and remember that once they have finished with an item that there are often other people waiting to use it after them. Just think how you would feel if you had reserved an item for your special day and the person before you hadn’t returned it!

Cake stands, bases, and knifes are usually hired for the weekend of the function. They can go out as early as Thursday, but must be returned on the first Monday after the function. If the function is not a weekend function then, if possible, special arrangements can be made with Linda. If the hire item is required for a longer period, we will do our best to accommodate your needs, but obviously at certain times of year some items are required on a weekly basis and therefore it is not always possible to allow items to be hired for more than a weekend. If the hire item is kept for longer than the weekend then there will be a hire charge which matches the time the item is kept for, therefore meaning that if the item is hired for 2 weekends then the hire charge will be doubled.
